Gráinne Quinlan is an Irish photographer currently based out of Shanghai. She is a represented by The Freaks, Milan and is a member of The Kennedy’s creative accelerator at Wieden and Kennedy’s. Her project ‘White Crane Spread Wings’ was shot whilst based in Hong Kong (2013) and exhibited at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. The photo book from the series featured on Self Publish Be Happy and exhibited in Tokyo (2014) as part of the F Book Show (arranged by the Brighton based Photobookshow). Her ‘Strawboy’ portraits were published as part of the New Irish Works (2013) collection and curated as part of the Belfast Photography Festival and PhotoIreland, Dublin. She was invited to give an artist talk at New York University (2014).
Gráinne holds a BA (HONS) in Photography from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland. She has worked in New York at the Mary Ellen Mark studio and in Hong Kong at The Salt Yard.
